About

Frankie (they/them) grew up in Nova Scotia with a jazz pianist & singer for a grandfather, blues and motown on the stereo every weekend, and boisterous, spontaneous hymn-like harmonies at family gatherings. They were doubly lucky to have weekly music classes starting in grade two, plus every ensemble and choir they could fit into the waking hours, all provided through the local school board. They studied voice with Jennifer Moir at the University of Western Ontario where they received their Bachelor of Music with Honours in Music Education, and Bachelor of Education. They have led vocal classes, bands, and choirs for 12+ years, and taught private vocal lessons for three. These incredible opportunities allowed them to thrive, and they are relentlessly dedicated to helping young people gain access to quality, safe, accessible, and inclusive music education.

Frankie has performed as a soloist/chorister with:

  • The Nova Scotia Youth Choir

  • The Ontario Youth Choir

  • Project Sing!

  • Les Choristes

  • UWO Jazz Band

  • Vespera Singers

  • Peterborough Singers

  • Big Sing Nogojiwanong

(Frankie is not a trombonist.)
